Prompt Post #2

  ROUND 2

Seeing as we've reached 4,000 comments in Round 1, it's time to make a new one. Same (lack of) rules apply. Gentle reminder to everyone to refrain from posting extremely long prompts, though. While no word limit will be imposed, take note that it is very unlikely for someone to fulfill your prompt if your prompt alone is already several paragraphs long and containing a number of specifications.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-(01/14/2016) We now have a TRADING POST where you can exchange fills with people.
-The prompt freeze is over! You may resume posting prompts. The next freeze is scheduled on February 8, 12:00 AM (PST) or if this round reaches 4,000 comments; whichever comes first.
-Due to popular demand, we now have our first couple of rules!
RULE #1: No prompt must exceed 250 words. Any prompt that exceeds that WILL be screened.
RULE #2: Please state RPF in the subject line if your prompt involves real people.
RULE #3: No kinkshaming.

Percival/Theseus (+ Newt/Tina), disgustingly in love

(Anonymous) 2016-12-27 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Newt takes Tina to meet his family for the first time, perhaps during christmas or some other holiday. This is accompanied by the usual nerves typical for such an occasion. What do they not expect is to find Graves in Casa Scamander behaving like he is a frequent guest. Ma Scamander comment that "It's just Percy, he is a sweetheart, really." doesn't help.
Turns out Percival and Theseus are boyfriends. Which is fair: It's not like Graves would share his personal life with Tina and Newt was too busy travelling around the world last few years to pay attention to his brother's mating habits. The thing is for two men with reputation as reserved unemotional hard-asses, Percival and Theseus act disgustingly in love. They call each other by cutesy pet names like Honey Bun and Sugar Plum, they go on long evening strolls holding hands, fall asleep embracing each other on the sofa, they aren't bit embarrassed by being interrupted during intense make out sessions.
Tina and even Newt are bit freaked out. Surely no-one can blame them if they discreetly check for impostors, or love potions or an other mind altering magic.

Bonuses:
Mr and Mrs Scamander already adopted Graves as their son-in-law and are in process of adopting Tina

Any after effects of Grindelwald ordeal welcome

Any: Why do you keep doing this?

Grindels/Graves: Probably because I'm a dangerous psychopath with a long history of violence.

Any: Oh..

Grindels/Graves: I don't know how you keep forgetting that.

Give me Grindelwald or Dark!Graves dragging their partner into absolutely ridiculously violent shenanigans.

Graves/Newt, h/c

Premise:
So Newt is usually a bundle of energy, constantly in motion. He doesn't need to sleep a lot and eats little (which is a constant worry to the Goldstein sisters and Jacob). It usually doesn't faze Newt because he is used to survive on little but ever since childhood he crashes every once in a while and when he crashes he crashes hard. Near comatose for days, little to no energy, nosebleeds and inexplainable bruises. His family never could find out what was wrong with him even after they took him to the best mediwitches and mediwizards around the world. Newt keeps being okay after a few days of rest, so they made sure that Newt would stay with Theseus whenever he starts to show first symptoms (nosebleeds, the odd bruise here and there).

After the movie:
Newt hasn't taken a break in weeks. He has been busy writing his book, helping MACUSA aurors as a consultant (who to his eternal surprise actually like him) and dealing with the aftermath of the Grindelwald attack while getting to know the real Percival Graves. He doesn't immediately notice that he's due for another crash and when he finally realises either during an auror meeting or maybe during a stake out for poachers, it's far too late to warn anyone. He freaks everyone out by suddenly collapsing like a puppet with cut strings.

Long premise but I'd like to see caretaker Newt being the one taken care of. Like Graves' aurors actually take turns by his bedside telling him stories about which poacher they caught today. Or Jacob bringing food. Tina and Queenie taking care of his animals. And Percival pining and promising to watch out for him in the future.

+ Picket and the niffler never leaving Newt's side
++ Theseus scolding his little brother affectionately when he wakes up
+++ a welcome back party for Newt when he feels better because I love it when Graves' employees genuinely like Newt for who he is

OP's add on: My kingdom if Picquery brings Graves paperwork to his hospital bed and everybody thinks she is unfeeling slave-driver and meanwhile Graves like "I knew you love me, Seraphina, what would I do without you."

Graves/Newt, swimming, bamf!Newt

(Anonymous) 2016-12-27 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
So that scene in Ever After where Danielle is swimming in her underdress and the prince seeing her? I'd offer my first child for Newt - who totally is a child of nature in my eyes - taking a swim on one of his travels through the US not knowing that he's actually near a stake out site of MACUSA aurors.

Graves and Co. find him and are smitten because honestly...half naked, wet Newt is a dream come true. Come on, a white shirt clinging to his body and all the right curves? Showing the odd scar here and there? Who knew that Newt hid such a beautiful, slender body under all those clothes. To bad they are attacked right as they prepare to make their presence known (because civilian in danger). Luckily for them even half naked, wet and without a wand Newt kicks ass.

+ Theseus made sure that if his brother was travelling alone finding dangerous beasts and pissing off even more dangerous humans, he damn well learned how to defend himself properly even without a wand at hand.

Credence/Graves, height difference

(Anonymous) 2016-12-27 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
aka "needs more short Graves"

I've read multiple fics that make Graves taller than Credence by default, and not enough that take into account the fact that he only appears taller because Credence hunches over 24/7. (Ezra Miller is taller than Colin Farrell! I love it!) Can I have a fic that explores/exaggerates their height difference with Credence being taller?

ideas:
- Graves having to lean up/stand on his toes to kiss him
- Graves making Credence stand up straight, then realizing he has to look up to meet his eyes
- Credence standing on the curb and resting his chin on Graves' head
- Graves wearing shoes with height and being even shorter when he takes them off (barefoot Graves!!!)
- Credence becoming confident in his posture and stature

Would prefer Real!Graves, but I don't mind ambiguity as long as I don't have to imagine Johnny Depp.

(Anonymous) 2016-12-27 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Here you go, OP! I did my best, so I hope I did it justice.

I wouldn't be able to describe the suits they're wearing properly. But Newt's wearing what Eddie Redmayne wore when he won his Oscar, and Percival's wearing what he wore at Cannes 2015. Assuming they wear suits and not robes. You can just imagine the yummiest suit you can think of, that works too.

--

Percival usually goes with Seraphina to the MACUSA Christmas ball. They go arm in arm, doing rounds and mingling with the politicians. It was a longstanding arrangement.

However, this year... this year might be the time to break this tradition. He eyes Newt beside him on the couch.

It's been four months. Their relationship moves slowly, but Percival treats everything that happens as minor miracles.

Right now, Newt is as relaxed as he can get. They're in the living room of Percival's apartment. Newt has shed his coat, and his sleeves are folded up to his elbows. His case is sitting quietly in the corner; Percival hasn't yet convinced Newt to let some of the tamer beasts out. However, Newt is writing. Occasionally, he absentmindedly chews on the tip of his quill.

Newt says he can only write reliably at home, in his family's manor. And yet, here he is, writing. The amount of parchment is threatening to bury the small table in front of the couch.

His concentration is such that he doesn't react to the hand that Percival snaked to his waist to pull him closer an hour ago.

Percival decides to take this chance to ask.

"Newt, MACUSA holds an annual Christmas Ball..." Percival starts. Surprisingly Newt nods, although he doesn't take his gaze off the parchment he's writing on.

"Tina told me a week ago. She also told me you always go with Madam President, so she asked me to accompany her for the night as friends and I accepted," Newt states nonchalantly, as if he hasn't just ruined Percival's plan for Christmas.

Percival buries his nose in Newt's hair and breathes deeply until he's sure he won't have any trace of bitterness or anger in his voice. "Alright."

The urge to permanently demote Tina Goldstein is harder to shake off.

- -

He lies in bed thinking about it for a long time.

He feels... incomplete. His bed seems bigger than before, and the unoccupied pillow on his left haunts him. He misses Newt even now, just two hours after spending time together.

He wants more, with Newt. He wants Newt sleeping beside him, wants to wake up to Newt beside him. He's greedy, he admits to his cold, empty bedroom. Like a parched plant that's watered after being denied water for so long.

He doesn't know what else to do, doesn't have any point of reference. There's no one to compare Newt to. He doesn't want to rush Newt either, but Newt has issues with words. Percival's used words before, asked Newt to stay over for the night. Newt had misunderstood and insisted that he could afford to pay for the hotel room.

For all Percival knows, Newt might be waiting for a sign that he was ready for more. Percival's not gonna insist if Newt isn't ready, but he does want Newt to be aware that Percival wanted more.

He's heard Newt talk about different mating dances, so why not?

Oh, right. Goldstein.

... He'll work it out.

He'll talk to Seraphina in the morning.

- -

He and Seraphina open the Christmas ball with their usual waltz. The urge to drop her hand is overwhelming. He wants to sprint to the pillar where Newt is hiding and trying to minimize contact with other people.

After the dance, he bows deeply to Seraphina and steps away, only for a matron dressed in lurid peach to snatch his hands.

He tunes out her speech about what a surprise it was for him to detach himself from the President, and how honored she was to be able to dance with him. She twirls forcefully, and since she has both of Percival's hands in her own, forces him to twirl in place as well.

He tries to catch a glimpse of Newt every time he is spun by the matron, but it only makes him dizzy. The matron seems to be of the opinion that dancing is comprised of endless twirls.

"Madam Bernett," Percival blurts out, his brain finally supplying the matron's name. The woman mercifully stops spinning him in her surprise.

"You remembered my name, oh my," she crows delightedly.

"I've never forgotten it in the first place, Madam. And, I've located the open bar. I'll fetch us some drinks, and be back in a moment," Percival adds, barely remembering his manners in his haste to get away.

Two steps in Newt's direction, and another hand snags his. He feels rather like pulling out his wand and cursing the young lady in front of him wearing the wrong shade of blue.

The only right shade of blue is Newt's coat. Newt isn't actually wearing it right now; he's got a navy blue suit that Percival's never seen before, which does suit him, except he looks uncomfortable in it. Or maybe that's just because he's uncomfortable with the situation.

He comes back to himself and steps back just in time as the young lady he's dancing with decides to say goodbye to Percival's personal space.

"I thank you for the lovely dance, my lady," Percival forces out through gritted teeth. He bows, heedless of the lady's reaction, and strides towards Newt again.

This time, he dons his serious business face, the one he uses for commanding his Aurors in the field. No one dares touch him and he reaches Newt without further trouble.

Newt, used to observing dangerous beasts in the field, takes Percival in from the ground up. He's full-on blushing from his cheeks to his ears to his neck by the time he meets Percival's gaze.

Percival wants to strip Newt's suit off to count his freckles. Instead, he says, "You look fetching under the fairy lights, Newt. And you've been holding out on me. I've never seen you wearing that before."

"You haven't worn that gray suit before either. Not that there's anything wrong with it. I like it," Newt offers shyly. His eyes are focused somewhere around Percival's collarbone.

The lights dim, and the music transitions to a slow jazz. Something about unicorns.

"Can I have this dance?" Percival asks softly. He extends a hand, telling himself he won't be disappointed too much if Newt declines and hoping against all odds that Newt would accept.

Newt bites his lower lip and takes a deep breath. He bows over Percival's hand. Percival is confused until he remembers that that was the form of acceptance, albeit for women.

He beams at Newt, who grants him a smile. Percival gives him a twirl while they move nearer to the center.

Newt moves with him smoothly, anticipating when to twist and turn and step forward or back or to the side, and Percival loves him. Percival is in love with him, this baffling man.

"You've been practicing behind my back, haven't you?" Percival teases.

Newt pouts. "I had professional instructors when I was a child!"

Percival laughs, much to the astonishment of everyone else around them. He pays it no mind. He's happy and it's Christmas. He's dancing with Newt.

"Is this to be our mating dance then?" He whispers to Newt's ear. Newt's breath hitches.

"You... Are you serious? You want..." Newt stammers. Percival pulls him close, and they sway under the fairy lights, not actively dancing anymore. Just being close.

"Yes," Percival breathes out. "I like holding you in my arms. If you want, I'd like to share my bed with you, for sleeping. Or more, if you're agreeable."

Newt blushes even more deeply than before, and buries his face Percival's shoulder.

"I'd love to," he mumbles, only loud enough for Percival to hear. Percival drops a tender kiss to Newt's hair.

"I've had enough of this party. What do you say, Mr. Scamander?" He asks.

"I think the mating dance was quite brilliant, Mr. Graves. But to be honest, I'd like to be alone with you now," Newt confesses. He is too adorable for words, and Percival loves him. So much.

Percival takes note of Goldstein giggling with the other Goldstein on their way out. The other Goldstein even cheekily winks at him.

- -

Newt's freckles are impossible to count without losing track. Percival doesn't mind doing it over and over.

Asylum AU: Doctor Percival/ Patient Credence/ Doctor Newt

(Anonymous) 2016-12-27 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Credence was just a poor ordinary soul, who lived a less than ideal life with his siblings under their abusive mother. After one bad night with his mother'd psychotic rages, he blacks out and wakes to find himself handcuffed to a hospital bed. His family were brutally killed and he as the sole survivor. As if losing his family was bad enough… Credence is told that he being blamed for the murders and was labeled as a psychotic.

Credence is sent on a oneway trip to the notorious Azkaban Asylum, to spend the rest of his days surrounded by maniacs and lunatics.

This is the first time the asylum received such a young patient charged with such a brutal crime, so two doctors are put in charge of him. Doctor Graves, a veteran of psychology regarding the criminally insane and Dr. Scamander, a psychologist who specialize with trauma and abuse.

Together they try to piece together Credence’s lost 24 hour blackout when the crime happened.

The sessions are long and frustrating, but things get more complicated when Credence realizes that he’s starting to have feelings for his doctors. Credence knows better than to act on it, knowing if the does cross that line than he will be removed from their care and be put under Doctor Grindelwald’s instead. A man who radiates such a dark aura and never ceases to creep Credence out.

Whether Credence actually killed his family is up to the writer, but can Credence handle the truth once he finds it?

Graves/Newt -- Regency AU

(Anonymous) 2016-12-27 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
(aka Pride and Prejudice -- could be magical, could be alpha/beta/omega, could be nonmagical, could be whatever -- just make it a regency au)

Newt is the youngest son of relatively well off family, and as such, should be swimming in social calls and suitors' letters. Except he's a bit strange -- always chasing after beasts and returning with mud on his clothes and twigs in his hair. He's just not marriage material. And, much to the dismay of his family, he's perfectly content to remain that way.

Except, somehow, miraculously, he's caught the eye on Mr. Percival Graves, a most eligible bachelor of considerable fortune, who has just bought property in their village. What follows is sure to be a most amusing courtship and, if the stars are aligned, marriage!

(By the way, there's a pretty awesome trope in P&P fandom, where Mr. Darcy and Miss Bennett are caught in some sort of compromising position and must marry! Right away! to avoid scandal. I would not be adverse to such a trope being employed here.)
