After the end of the movie Newt finds Credence and uses magic to separate him from his Obscurus and return him to his human form, which works except that a side effect of the spell Newt used somehow intertwines Credence's magic with Newt's. They discover that they have to be touching each other or they both start feeling weak and sick, and the further apart they are, the worse it gets.

+ Neither is really used to that much physical contact with another person, and at first it's awkward, but they both start to secretly appreciate being so close to the other.

+ When they find a way to untwine their magic, there is lots of angsting because they both think the other will be eager to be free of them, but then they finally reveal their feelings and live happily ever after
