Percival can hardly believe he's in a relationship with Newt and Credence. He's happy until the darkness of what he suffered at Grindelwald's hands come roaring back. It drags him into deep depression but he stubbornly himself puts up the front of being ok to where not even Newt or Credence notice. The creatures however do notice and just when Percival is about to do the unthinkable they alert Newt and Credence.
Newt and Credence are horrified by what nearly happened. They treat any injuries Percival did cause himself and now have to bring their beloved back from the edge. Percival is broken, while Newt and Credence are terrified and also angry at themselves for not noticing their lover was drowning in despair. The creatures just want their family to be ok again.
