Filler. Well, so far I've been writing stuff which is dominantly 'Theseus! No!' but I can assure you that Theseus spent large portions of their childhood going 'Newt, no!' and still does with considerable frequency. Usually whenever Newt gets wind of any creatures in danger.
Personal head cannon as to how Newt ended up rescuing Frank is one of those situations - by the time Theseus caught up with Newt there really wasn't much left for him to do and he had to physically force him to take care of his own injures.
