FILL: A Sick Nuclear Family - 2a/?

When Percival wakes up, he immediately feels like he has to throw up. Stumbling out of bed, he runs to the bathroom and nearly collapses in front of the toilet as he empties his stomach. The curse must accelerate the pregnancy, he thinks as he retches, because his insides burn and his stomach feels like it weighs a ton – stretched, bloated. His chest feels tender, too, and his nipples are swollen and red. Percival feels an anger he’s never felt before because he knows now, that he’ll never be able to escape. Not with a body like this.

“Well, it looks like you’re already coming along quite well.”

Grindelwald suddenly appears before him. Percival jumps and backs away, hands scrambling on the bathroom tiles. Really though – he should be used to this by now. Grindelwald stands stiff and tall, and only watches him. Cautiously, Percival wipes his mouth using his sleeve and ignores the dribble of morning sickness that stains the fabric. He breathes intensely as Grindelwald eyes him up and down.

The dark wizard’s face brightens when he spots Percival’s bulging stomach. “My, my, Percy. You’re practically glowing!”

“Fuck you,” Percival bites.

Grindelwald moves like he’s about to raise a hand to hit him and Percival flinches, raising an arm to defend himself. But it doesn’t come.

“I’m going to let that one slide, seeing as how the pregnancy might be affecting your mood.” He trails his hand down the side of Percival’s face and then pats him on the cheek. “But if you disrespect me again, Percy, I’ll break your legs and keep you as an incubator.”

As if you aren’t doing that already, Percival wants to say. Instead, he grimaces and nods, absolutely loathing how powerless he is. That seems to please Grindelwald because he steps back from Percival and smiles.

“Credence!” Grindelwald shouts without tearing his gaze away from Percival. “Come here, dear boy. Mummy’s got a surprise for you!”

Credence appears in seconds, hair ruffled and face pink from running. The childlike innocence that he exudes makes Percival nauseous. No young adult should be behaving this way. Credence notices Percival’s pregnancy faster than Grindelwald did, and he runs over to Percival. Giggling, Credence hugs him tightly, careful not to squeeze his stomach.

“Oh, Mummy! I’m so happy! I’ll finally have my very own brothers and sisters,” Credence nuzzles him. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

A sort of numbing denial settles over Percival and he can only sit there as Credence kisses his cheek. He can only sit there as the anger fades from his face, only to be replaced by hopelessness.

“See how happy you’ve made our boy, Mummy?”

Percival throws up again.

-

He’s halfway into the pregnancy when he starts to notice the two patches of wetness that appear on the loose white shirt Grindelwald provides him with. His face heats up as he realizes what this means. Percival’s on the verge of a near breakdown and his hands shake as they reach for his own chest. This can’t be happening. It can’t be what he thinks it is. Carefully, he brushes a finger against his puffy nipple and he hisses because it’s so sore and so wet. His finger comes back covered in drops of cloudy fluid, and it’s exactly what he thought it was.

Quickly, he retracts his hand – like he’s just touched a fire. He’s disgusted. At Grindelwald. At himself.

“Mummy?”

Percival looks up to see Credence at the foot of his bed, hands clasped together, fingers squirming like he’s nervous.

“Yes… Credence?”

It takes him a few seconds to start speaking again. “Daddy said you’ll let me talk to the baby if I ask.”

Of course he did.

“C-can I?” Credence asks.

“Is…” Percival can’t bring himself to call Grindelwald Daddy, but he knows that Credence will tattle on him if he doesn’t. The last time Percival refused to call him that in front of Credence, Grindelwald Silenced him for days. If you don’t want to say it then I prefer you say nothing at all. “…Is D-daddy home?” He manages to choke out.

Credence shakes his head.

That makes Percival feel just a little bit better about all of this. Grindelwald’s presence is mostly what makes him nervous. Being alone with Credence is better without Grindelwald.

“So, can I, Mummy?”

“Yeah,” Percival says but he’s shaking his head no. Credence doesn’t take notice of it because all he’s staring at is Percival’s stomach. He kneels beside the bed and presses his face against Mummy’s belly.

“Hello, baby. I can’t wait for you to come out and play with me. You’ll love it here. Mummy is very nice and gentle. According to Daddy, he’s the perfect Mummy and he’ll make more siblings for us to play with,” Credence says, smiling and looking up at Percival like he’s just complimented him. “Daddy is the best. He gives me everything I want and more. He teaches me magic and he’ll teach you too. Daddy says that his and Mummy’s babies will be the strongest wizards ever.”

Percival trembles as he listens to Credence’s words and he can’t bear to hear anymore.

“Mummy’s strong and Daddy’s even stronger. I get to choose how many babies Mummy will have and Daddy will make them inside of Mum-”

“Okay, that’s enough, Credence,” he says, roughly pushing Credence away.

Startled, Credence stumbles backwards and his back hits the wall. Percival’s as shocked as he is. He didn’t mean to push so hard. All of a sudden it gets eerily quiet, but the floor starts rumbling and black wisps of smoke begin to form around Credence.

Fuck. He’s really done it now. Grindelwald’s going to mutilate him for this.

“No, no, no. I’m sorry, Credence. I didn’t mean to. M-Mummy didn’t mean to. Please, don’t tell Daddy, Credence,” Percival pleads with hands out in front of him, trying to calm Credence down. But the boy’s eyes go white and he shakes violently.

“Daddy said you’d let me.”

“I know, I know. It’s Mummy’s fault. You – you can talk with the baby again. Just please don’t tell Daddy,” he’s begging now and he wonders just how much Grindelwald rubbed off on Credence. The boy isn’t at all like he was before. “Please.”

And like a switch turned off, Credence returns to his normal self.

“I forgive you, Mummy,” he says with an innocent smile.

Percival blinks. He’s so confused. But he’s glad it’s over and he exhales in relief as he leans heavily against the headboard.

“I love seeing you two get along. Credence. You’re shaping up to be quite a Momma’s boy,” Grindelwald’s voice reaches the room before he’s even there. “But I think it’s bedtime for you. Don’t you think so, Mummy?”

Credence doesn’t need to be told twice. He’s happy – no, ecstatic, to oblige – and obediently, he leaves.
