Post movie. The real Graves has been found, but prolonged exposure to the Imperius curse has left him with some undesirable side effects, namely:
Graves feels compelled to follow every order.
At first it might even be a little funny. Not everyone believes Graves wasn't complicit with Grindelwald, but look at what he's willing to do to keep up the charade! Look at their stoic Director prance and sing and then, well, someone says something they shouldn't and...they never meant it to go that far, did they?
Cue angst and hurt/comfort.
Bonus points if: +Newt offers Graves a place in his case, a safe haven among creatures who can't take advantage +turns out Graves likes following orders when they come from Newt +assertive!Newt coaxing a submissive!Graves to let go with words and praise that are never quite orders, but Graves which feels inclined to follow anyway
