Once they've reached a certain point in their training, new aurors are often teamed up with an older, more experianced auror to act as something of mentor out in the field. An excited (and eager to prove himself once again) Harry is teamed up with gruff, jaded Percival.

Really don't care where anyone wants to go from there plotwise, as long as there's a grudging romance of some kind.
