Newt isn’t confrontational, or good with people and much prefers the company of his creatures. As such, he understands why the MACUSA aurors mah be under the impression that he can’t look after himself, especially considering he has a tendency to forget to eat/sleep/etc upon occasion. It is, however, getting rather patronising. Eventually, Newt snaps, and explains very politely, in no uncertain terms, that he is an accomplished magi-zoologist, who has rescued ridiculously dangerous creatures, a lot of the time from even more dangerous humans. He has travelled across all six continents, alone and has managed to get himself out of trouble every single time. He has a nundu in his case and is fully capable of dealing with any issues that arise from that. He was instrumental in revealing Grindelwald. He does NOT need to be treated like a little kid who can’t cross a road without someone holding his hand.
Bonus: Percival Graves never forgot this. He also finds Newt telling off his aurors unfairly hot.
