This is so goood. I actually haven't read many fics that focus on how bizarre it would be for Newt to meet the real Percival Graves after having been almost killed and tortured by the impostor. It makes sense that he would have such a visceral reaction, even when they're obviously different.

I was a little taken aback at Newt saying "mudbloods" but then thought, well maybe it wasn't thought of as a slur so much back then? I love the bit about Newt appreciating Jacob and liking that he saw him as "someone rather wonderful." Awww. Maybe Graves will look at him like that eventually too. ;-)
