uhhhh basically Newt overeats when he is stressed idk if it’s a pairing or Newt centric but newt overeats when he is stressed and gains weight easily. He knows this and is annoyed by the fact that it has happened countless times through his life.
He hasn’t been overeating much since hogwarts though, so none of his actual friends know this, Graves/Jacob/Tina/anyone realises this and even secretly encourage him to eat more without Newt noticing
suddenly all his clothes are tight and nearly bursting, he’s hungry all the time and sleepy because of constantly stuffing himself
