Newt finds Credence and nurses him back to health, separating the Obscurus from him. Credence is pardoned and begins magical training. Then the real Percival Graves is found and everyone despairs because for all intents and purposes he looks dead. Credence is heartbroken and Newt himself laments not being able to meet the real and formidable man.
A grand funeral is arranged with everyone in attendance, Newt even brings the case with all of his creature friends. Percival is laid out all regal and handsome, but what no one knows is that he's not dead, just cursed by Grindelwald. He's fully aware of what's gong on around him but so weak that not even Queenie can pick up on his terrified thoughts. However, within the case, one of the creatures, like maybe the Graphorn or the Nundu can hear or sense that Percival is alive and in distress.
Just as President Piquery is about to set the funeral pyre ablaze, the creature comes roaring out of the case and bounds towards Percival where he lays. It's chaos, with Newt, Tina, and Credence protecting the creature as it uses its own magic to break the curse over Percival. Everyone is stunned as Percival's eyes shoot open, and even more stunned when he hoarsely asks who's Graphorn or Nundu this is and whether said person has a permit. Cue even more chaos breaking out as Percival is rushed to medical and MACUSA is left even more shame faced at having nearly cooked its long lost Director of Magical Security alive.
Newt and Credence make it their mission to help Percival recover. They do so by taking Percival into the case were he reunites with the creature that saved him and also heals with the help of the other creatures And if love happens between Newt, Credence, and Percival well, after everything they've all been through, they deserve some happiness.
