Okay but we need an AU fic where Graves and Newt are married. Except no one at MACUSA believes that Graves is married because they have never met him.
Maybe Newt has been traveling around the world doing research for his book and helping creatures and everyone thinks it's an excuse and Newt doesn't exist and the more Graves talks about Newt the more they believe he doesn't exist...like,
-'His name is is Newt.' 'Okay, come on Newt isn't a real name!'
- 'A magic case full of creatures? You certainly have an imagination, Mr. Graves.'
- 'He keeps a bowtruckle in his pocket.' 'Why would he do that?' 'He has attachment issues.' 'Wait, him or the bowtruckle?'
And then finally Newt shows up and everyone is shocked because he does exist.
Can be a 5+1 story like 5 times no one believed that Graves had a husband and the one time Graves' husband showed up looking for him and caused all kinds of chaos.
TLDR: Graves and Newt are married, but no one has met Newt. Everyone thinks Graves is making up a fake husband. It turns out that Graves' fake husband is very very real and everything Graves said about him was true.
