Post-movie, Newt is now a consultant at the MACUSA and a duelling competition is announced. Everyone wants the magizoologist on their team. After all, Newt can hold his own for an impressive amount of time against a wizard as powerful as Grindelwald, is incredibly adaptable and in a real world situation, can wipe the floor with just about everyone.

Except Newt tries desperately to get out of the entire thing, claiming that he can't duel. No one takes him seriously until the event happens and it is cringe-inducing to watch.

Wizarding duels are highly formal events that take place face to face on a raised platform so that your movements are limited and there are all sorts of unspoken rules about what is and is not acceptable. Basically, every weak spot Newt has is encapsulated in a formal duel. He just can't do it.

Everyone's very confused until someone points out that they've definitely never bowed at someone they're trying to arrest.

Newt and Percival have been in a relationship for a while, and they both accept the other’s differing views on sex, but Newt knows Percival would like to have sex, so he kindly sets up a gangbang for him. Newt Scamander was in sent to a reorientation centre following his expulsion from Hogwarts, viewed as an unstable and improper omega. By the time Theseus managed to gain custody, Newt was broken and terrified. Theseus cared for him as best as he could, and years later Newt still has the occassional nightmare but has handled the trauma well enough - until the events of New York.

Newt and Percival get de-aged together by an incident. They do not remember any of their friends at MACUSA, but the two are still very attached to each other even as children.

Percival is very reserved even as a child but isn’t willing to let anyone take Newt away from him. People quickly learn that even though Percival may not have the intimidating build or stature anymore… he makes up for in sharp nails, biting, and a hard kick to the shin.

Tiny Newt is a cute large eyed little thing, wearing a sweater thats obviously to big with his arms clutched around a stuffed niffler that a nice woman named Queenie gave him. He clings to Percival and hides behind him whenever he feels shy or uncomfortable.

They are put in the care of Queenie and Jacob, who step up to become the ultimate mom and dad. This incident of taking care of their de-aged friends gets the couple talking about building a family of their own.

I would love to see a fic where Graves has been flirting with Newt for a while but they're not together yet. Things are going well though and one day Graves is leaning into Newts personal space and making the magizoologist blush then Jacob walks around the corner.

Jacob doesn't care if the Director is a wizard or not, he's not letting his friend get hurt like that. He saw what it did to some people during the war and he'll be damned before Graves does that to Newt.
