Seeing as we've reached 4,000 comments in Round 1, it's time to make a new one. Same (lack of) rules apply. Gentle reminder to everyone to refrain from posting extremely long prompts, though. While no word limit will be imposed, take note that it is very unlikely for someone to fulfill your prompt if your prompt alone is already several paragraphs long and containing a number of specifications.

Someone (Percival? Theseus? Newt himself?) has had enough of the creatures behaving badly. So they take some photos with signs explaining exactly what the creatures have been up to.

+ These are wizarding photos.

So, the Ministry of Magic need to take action against Newt for whatever reason. Maybe they're bowing to international pressure over him 'releasing' magical creatures in New York or there's been another incident since then.

They publically announce that they're going to banish him to the 'Dark Mountains of Doom' (or wherever), a treacherous place where more wizards die then come back alive. He will be alone, with no support or contact with others. If he's still alive in three months, he will be allowed to return but he will be wearing a tracker so that everyone knows he stayed there.

The international community is satisfied with this almost certain death sentence. The Ministry is united in this punishment, with even Theseus Scamander agreeing with it and refusing to plead for leniency, he even states that his brother deserves such a thing for his crimes. Newts friends at the MACUSA are horrified and one way or another, are going to save Newt from this fate.

Newt is overjoyed that he’s getting permission to return to where he was stationed during the war. He can’t wait to see his dragons again and meet their hatchlings without any threat of fighting. He’s been petitioning the Minister to be allowed back there for years.

I suddenly remembered reading an old epic length HP fic posted years ago that had Dumbledore & others sending in a pretty boy Original Character to seduce Grindelwald and spy on him.

Okay, I want that, but with Credence.

I'm reading an excellent book (The Name of the Wind) and in that book the main character is homeless for a while and mentions how when he eats an apple, he east the whole thing, core and all and how sometimes all he ever got was the core. He doesn't wallow in self pity or anything, it's just what he did to survive.

I want to see post-movie Graves having some such habits from his extended time with Grindelwald, maybe reinforcing habits from his childhood. Newt starts to notice these habits and instead of calling him out on them, or pitying him, or making fun of him like some people, just goes with it and helps Graves eventually move past them.

Can be just friendship.

Have you ever been the person in a group of people who remembers all the little things about everyone but no one remembers anything about you? I have, it sucks.

That's Graves.

He remembers all his auror's birthdays, partner's and kids names, important and insignificant information. He knows how they all take their coffee, their favorite foods, etc.

So when he gets captured, he thinks this is going to be easy. Feed Grindelwald a little harmless false information and bam! Rescue. So he tells him things like he prefers his coffee black instead of with cream and sugar or that his favorite food is something he actually can't stand.

Only NO ONE NOTICES. So when he is rescued (by Newt and his creatures), broken and battered and starved, his trust is shattered. Can he stay at MACUSA? Or will he accept Newt's offer to travel the world with the one person who figured it out?

Post film, Original!Graves is rescued, Credence is alive and starting to learn magic. He starts to develop feelings for Graves but he is repressed and clueless. He finds a spell or portion in that he thinks is a love potion but it is actually the wizard equivalent of a roofie. He doses Graves with it and when Graves is all weak and pliant he has sex with him awkwardly (top!Credence, please).

After, Graves realizes what happened and someone informs Credence just what he's done (Newt? Tina?). Credence is horrified.

Bonus:
Newt and Graves were starting a relationship, how does this violation impact them?

a (modern) au where percival and newt are the new, cute gay couple who just moved into a home in a quiet suburban neighbourhood. everything is normal, the neighbours love them and their dogs, and everyone's just generally accepting of their relationship even if they are kind of weird (odd hours? sounds coming from their basement at three in the morning? suspicious lumps in the garbage?). It's not overly alarming, so nobody really does anything about it, and all is Good. But there's a catch: you really should've payed more attention to the oddness, because maybe they're serial killers, maybe they're cannibals, maybe they're vampires intent on starting a new clan, who knows- the point is, soon after they move in, people start disappearing. and Credence, the young boy living next door, is Onto Them.

idk, something in which credence is made to accept praise despite his embarrassment? or anything along the lines of D/s praise kink, with an optional side of humiliation. i'd prefer slash (not gen or het) but i'm cool with anything 👌

Graves is rescued and back at work. He's limping and his arm is in a sling but he's fine dammit, don't you have a report to finish?

For Reasons, Newt helps them with some sort of creature smuggling and one of the rescues (I'm partial to an occamy) is traumatized and distressed and somehow decides that its new safe place is curled up in Percival's sling.

To everyone's shock, he allows it, even though having the creature there, small as it was, must cause some pain.

Gen or Newt/Percival

A young newbie from MACUSA tries to manipulate Newt for his impressive connections. Newt's war hero brother is head auror in the ministry and MACUSA is indebted to Newt after Grindelwald. So yes... impressive.

The person's plan was to get what he/she needs from Newt then ditch him when he's no longer useful.

What the little upstart never expected was that while Newt is oblivious, his friends see through this person intentions.

They sabotage him/her at every turn, the person never suspects and think its just bad luck. The newbie tries to win over Percival Graves too but is convinced that the man hates him/her.

It isn't long before the arrogant newbie realizes the jig is up. Powerful enemies are made by targeting Newt and those enemies happily burn the person's promising career to the ground.

Can someone *pretty please* write me some angsty backstory about the Sudanese girl and how she came to develop an Obscurus and how her family and friends and neighbors reacted and how Newt came to try and fail to rescue her??? I am in need of some serious angst right about now...

i NEED an au where form some reason (a cursed object, a misfired spell, etc) Original!Graves ends up switching places with Jerry (Fright Night) and/or Marty (Seven Psychopaths) in the middle of MACUSA, or maybe they travel through the multiverse and all end up in the same place. The point is, hilarity ensues.

Newt's words seem to expect a specific skill that he just doesn't have no matter how much his parents pushed. So they somehow convince Newt that his soulmate is actually Theseus' (who does have said skill) and he's got the words so he can introduce them.

Theseus kind of goes along with it as the words sound kind of threatening/dangerous and he just wants to protect him.

So when Newt meets his soulmate (which reveals it's an honest mix up/completly innocent), he tries to introduce/match him up with Theseus. Now Theseus has to explain why Newt doesn't believe his soulmate is his soulmate and convince Newt of it as well.

The skill could be duelling, fencing, Quidditch, hunting,...

The reason why Newt avoids eye contact with humans and tries to send as much time as possible with animals is because he's a natural Imperius, just like how Queenie is a natural Legilimens.

It wasn't so bad when he was younger but as he grew up, it got worse. It's why he took the fall for Leta, it may have been her actions but it was his throwaway comment that made her do it. He doesn't mean to control people, he hates that he's doing it but since HP revealed that people feel blissful under Imperio, it can be really hard for him to tell.

Imperio works on animals too, but since that lets him get close enough to look after them, he doesn't feel as guilty. People and creatures that have been around him for a while can resist (like his family and Pickett) but most humans are too terrified to get to that point, whether they realise what's going on or not.

So many ways this can go, but here are a few ideas:

A) Credence grows up much like Harry with the Dursleys. He spends the school year at Ilvermorny receiving a magical education, only to return to Mary Lou Barebone and her tender mercies during the summer. Through some A+ parenting (re: manipulation), Mary Lou ensures Credence remains with the church, swallowing his magic and taking his medicine (re: consenting to her beatings to spare his sisters).

Everything's going, well, not fine, but Credence has it handled...until a magical accident puts him on MACUSA's radar.

Cue Graves choosing Credence as his candidate in the Auroror trials.

B) Whatever. Just as long as we get to see Graves mentor Credence a la Harry and Eggsy, all the while showcasing Credence's capabilities...

Pickett knows that Newt is the best tree. The other bowtruckles disagree. They believe Percival is the best tree. Adorable shenanigans ensue.

They find Graves alive. He's hurt, he's been tortured. But the thing that worries them the most is the strange plant like thing wrapped around one arm. It turns out this is supressing his magic. If he tries to use magic it hurts him. If someone else tries to use magic on it or him, it hurts him (Tina didn't need to ever hear a person scream like that). Turns out apparating with someone with this thing on them hurts them so much they pass out.

The healers can't do anything because the spells and potions will only hurt him. So they call back Newt, who may be the only person in the world that knows what this thing is and how to remove it.

Lots and lots of hurt/comfort. Long, slow recovery under Newt's care.

After Leta, nobody would ever be allowed to betray/leave Newt again. They wouldn't even want to. Or in other words, Newt manipulates his beasts (and siginificant other) into never even wanting to leave.

E.g. he rescues his beasts, takes care of them and promises them to let them leave when they're healthy. Of course they're welcome to stay for as long as they want to. At the same time he makes sure to tell them of all the dangers he protects them from... (and humans are just another type of beast after all)

Someone powerful attacks and subdues Percival and then rapes him brutally. This person then obliviates him so when he wakes up the next morning he doesn't remember a thing. But he hurts, a lot. And he's been an investigator for his entire adult life so as he starts to catalogue his injuries it slowly dawns on him what happened.

How does he deal with this? Does he have someone (Newt? Jacob?) he can go to for platonic support? Does he try to hide it and just get on with his life? Does he hunt down the bastard? All of the above?

Newt is well traveled, in every sense. He travels the world and meets lots of interesting people and gets to know them. Intimately. Top, bottom, both at the same time, everything, Newt has done and loved it all.

Percival has been dedicated to his career his whole life. School was for learning. After, he'd had a one-track mind to become the best auror that ever lived with no time for friends much less romantic attachments. He's done nothing. At all. He's never so much as kissed someone, I mean, what a waste of his time!

Somehow, Newt does what no one else ever has been able to and convinces Percival to date him. Maybe post-Grindelwald Percival is reevaluating his priorities. Whatever. Newt teaches him EVERYTHING.

Grindelwald falls in love with Graves while holding him captive. He wants to keep Graves forever, and is obsessed and possessive. This further interferes with Graves' ability to escape (if he ever does)

I would love to see a crossover with the 2017 version of Beauty and the Beast with the BatB cast being those from the film, but Newt comes across them in is own era and is the one who breaks the curse- or maybe changes the curse- it would be good to see prince Adam able to transform into his beastly form to protect Newt.

BC im just disgusting, how bout some beast, preferably large and toothy, messily eating somebody. Like, hardvore, biting off limbs 'n crunching on bones and fun stuff like that. Preferably while their meal is still alive. Maybe Credence, Newt, or Jacob? I don't really mind anyone but *shrugging noises*

For Reasons, Jacob is allowed to keep his reclaimed memories (my head cannon is the moment he sees Queenie smile at him it all comes rushing back). He is brought on as MACUSA's no-maj consultant. You know, for Reasons.

Only, the american wizards have had such fear drilled into them what with the Second Salemers bringing back horrible memories and threatening to do it all again that even the most hardened auror is terrified of Jacob.

That is, until they get to know him. I want to see Jacob charming a bunch of traumatized wizards with his open wonder and love of magic as well as delicious baked treats.

Bonuses:
-Jacob oblivious to their fear and just being his adorable, kind self.
-Jacob not being oblivious and being consciously gentle with them.
-Newt is the magical creature consultant and he and Jacob are bffs.
-Original Graves rescue, either Jacob finds him or is the only one not guilt ridden so he's the only one who visits him in the hospital for a while.

Graves is old disillusioned cop with years of experience, Credence is young eager cop fresh out of academy looking to prove himself. They are made partners. Make it happen.
