ROUND 2

Seeing as we've reached 4,000 comments in Round 1, it's time to make a new one. Same (lack of) rules apply. Gentle reminder to everyone to refrain from posting extremely long prompts, though. While no word limit will be imposed, take note that it is very unlikely for someone to fulfill your prompt if your prompt alone is already several paragraphs long and containing a number of specifications.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-(01/14/2016) We now have a TRADING POST where you can exchange fills with people.
-The prompt freeze is over! You may resume posting prompts. The next freeze is scheduled on February 8, 12:00 AM (PST) or if this round reaches 4,000 comments; whichever comes first.
-Due to popular demand, we now have our first couple of rules!
RULE #1: No prompt must exceed 250 words. Any prompt that exceeds that WILL be screened.

Newt has always been close to his family, the Scamanders take pride in being a close knit family. They have always encourged NEwt to find his own path, supported and fought for him after his Hogwarts expullsion, encouraged him in his career and love of beasts, comforted him when boyfriends broke up with them, and yes Theseus is as over protective as has been rumoured.

So when Newt finally finds a man he loves and loves him back, eccentricies and all, there should be no problems. Percival Graves may be a be stiff, and yes he's older than Newt, and yes he's American but he loves Newt and really that's all that should matter.

But when Newt introduces Percival officially to his family the Scamanders, it doesn't go well right from the outset. His parents are cold and almost rude to Percival, but Theseus *hates* Percival, and none of them bother to hide their dislike of Percival personally, and especially his relationship with Newt, worse still they make it clear they will not accept them together, Newt must choose, his beloved family or the man he loves.

What is the reason behind their hostility to Percival and how can Newt ever make such an awful choice?

N.B. it's NOT homophobia - in this world gay relationships have always been normal in the wizarding world.
