ROUND 2

Seeing as we've reached 4,000 comments in Round 1, it's time to make a new one. Same (lack of) rules apply. Gentle reminder to everyone to refrain from posting extremely long prompts, though. While no word limit will be imposed, take note that it is very unlikely for someone to fulfill your prompt if your prompt alone is already several paragraphs long and containing a number of specifications.

-The prompt freeze is over! You may resume posting prompts. The next freeze is scheduled on February 8, 12:00 AM (PST) or if this round reaches 4,000 comments; whichever comes first.

Flat | Top-Level Comments Only

Graves is cursed by Grindlewald and its affects surface after he's found. A slow-acting, subtle curse that is meant to transform its victim's mind into that of an instinctive beast's -- no physical effects, only mental. So at first, nobody really notices anything off with Graves -- or they assume it has something to do with his time captured, and the people around him decide to give him space. Time passes and Graves settles back into his role as Director while he notices some changes in his habits, like he becomes more nocturnal, starts favouring physical activities, develops sudden cravings for meat and desires to hunt. Okay, I don't know much about animal habits, but maybe it's similar to the transformation into a werewolf or a vampire's thirst -- something like a supernatural creature, except he's still human and retains enough of that side of his brain to function day-to-day.

Enter Newt, and the beastly side of Graves immediately imprints on him. Graves tries very hard not to come off as creepy or obsessive, yet he can't help how he's drawn to Newt -- and it's not entirely due to the new feral side of him. Graves, stubborn as he is, is determined to suppress his instincts and court Newt as a civilized person. Except he can't always seem to control himself, and ends up literally sweeping Newt off of his feet at times, carrying him out of danger, doing stuff like making sure Newt is fed and improving the living conditions in his ratty apartment. On the other hand, Newt -- more familiar with an animal's courting habits than a human's -- responds rather well to this 'primitive' courting.

As time goes on however, the curse worsens and Graves gets almost feral and fiercely possessive over Newt. I'd love to see a disorderly Graves becoming close to monstrous -- practically a beast wielding magic. Bonus love if you include a scene where Newt gets hurt and Graves goes into protective mode and decimates the enemy.

An extra helping of my love if you add the reactions of MACUSA upon noticing Graves' changed behaviour, thinking he's compromised once again, and treating him like he's a rare wild animal -- and then it's Newt's turn to get protective.
