I'm afraid for Newt and his creatures that Grindelwald has more in mind. In my mind is a whole dark story where he gets his hands on Newt and systematically breaks/seduces him to his side (because I don't think Grindelwald would rape and/or torture Newt -- or anyone, really -- just for shits and giggles.)
