Original!Graves/Newt - Eye Contact

So we know that Newt doesn't like eye contact, tends to avoid it if at all possible.

I imagine that Graves is the type of person that will stare you down - if you make eye contact, he will not look away until after you do.

So after they find the real Graves, Newt meets his eyes eventually. Of course he looks away. But he notices that this Graves' eyes are different, somehow, softer than Grindewald!Graves. And he wants to know what the difference is. So he keeps trying to look at Graves' eyes. Cue awkward staring competitions that seriously confuse Tina. Of course they don't ever talk about it out loud, though they do talk about other things as they get to know each other, and eventually their relationship changes.
