Newt/ Og!Graves or Jacob, Newt thinks he's a magical creature, attempts to woo his crush like one

Due to shenanigans (confundus charm? blow to the head? Other?) Newt believes that he is a magical creature.

He gets all hot and bothered and goes looking for a mate and since (in a broad generalization here) in the animal kingdom the "boys" are the brightly colored flashy ones and the "girls" are the more dowdy obviously Grave/Jacob is a "girl" to be pursued. It helps that non-brain-addled Newt already has a crush on Graves/Jacob

So Newt brings him food (freshly killed meat, Yum!), trinkets, builds them a house/nest thing, does the funky mating dance, sings, whatever strikes your fancy.

None of this goes well.

Of course Graves/Jacob is understandably confused and concerned about Newt's mental health and doesn't respond at all correctly to Newt's attempts to "woo" him. Poor Newt is upset and steps up his game.

Bonus for them eventually realizing what's going on only after Newt has pretty much given up in heartbreak and then having to awkwardly respond how the "girl" creature would in order to catch him long enough to fix all this.

Would OP like me to prompt a new prompt for Jacob actually reacting the right way accidentally and completely accidentally encouraging this madness? Because I might fill it that way if I get some spare spoons and time next week.

You can put that fill on THIS prompt if you want. I just really want Newt acting out this strange mating ritual and his crush being confused and concerned. whether it's reciprocated properly or not is up to you. I do kind of want them to make him work for it though.... >.>

Ohhh he does. He keeps refusing to present his rump properly, shying away when Newt dances into his personal space.

It's heavily influenced by david attenburrough (sp?) Marathon I did a few years back. I have... ideas.
