Newt doesn't like meeting anyone's eyes for longer than a few seconds. He's jumpy and shy around people. Somebody made him that way. We don't need to look any farther than Theseus.
He doesn't like Newt, awkward boy that he is. Newt's shameful. He's only good enough to be his brother's whore/cumdump/slave.
People like to assume that Newt acts like he does because it makes his creatures like him, but it's actually because of Theseus.
