Credence is extremely thin. Someone (can be Graves, Grindelwald, Queenie, etc.) decides to do something about it and make sure he gets decent meals whenever possible. Maybe they also like it when the food just happens to be phallic-shaped, or when Credence licks his fingers after eating. Maybe not. It's up to potential filler.
