In which Newt is definitely, totally, 100% not some sort of obscurus who simply managed to get it under "control". Nope. Definitely not. And he totally has the random blasts of power that happen around him under control. Uh-huh. Totally.

The real Percival Graves is rescued and barely beginning to recover when his superiors start demanding answers. Like: How exactly did Grindelwald get the one-up on him?

Graves, who so closely guards his personal life and has tried to keep this information hidden, has to admit before a room full of peers and superiors that he took Gellert Grindelwald home for sex and it was in post-coital oblivion that he was captured.

+ Graves knew the man he was taking home looked like Gellert Grindelwald, but didn't put it together until it was too late.
++Tina has always known Graves was gay and is ready to fight anyone who has a problem with it.
+++ Graves, while unashamed of his sexuality, is just a very personal man and is uncomfortable with everyone knowing. Whether anyone actually treats him differently is up to author.
++++ Newt makes an appearance and doesn't give two shits about any of it and his attitude ultimately makes Graves feel more comfortable

Post-film, Grindelwald escapes, finds and reconciles with Credence, and takes over the world. He manages to convince Dumbledore to rule with him. Grindelwald and Dumbledore keep Credence as their kept man.
Credence is still so confused. At first he thought that Grindelwald actually cared about him, but now he seems to just be using him for sex. Credence wants to hate Dumbledore, who Grindelwald clearly actually cares about. Only Dumbledore treats him with genuine affection.

Credence Barebone has been kept sheltered from many things. When he meets "Mr. Graves," he finally has someone who he can ask questions to. Some of these are not questions one usually asks...well, anyone really.
Ex. "Mr. Graves, what's heavy-petting?" "Someone said Ma was suffering from hysteria and needed a vibrator. What's that?"

How Grindelwald reacts is up to the filler.

After being expelled from Hogwarts, Newt's folks set him up with home school teacher, Percival Graves.

I don't think I need to explain, we all know what happens.

What if when Graves arrives at the church he realizes right away that Credence is the Obscurus. Credence is at his most vulnerable and begging for help and the way Mr. Graves is looking at him...so full of wonder and awe at the power Credence possesses. To be told that he's a miracle. There is no question that he would follow Mr. Graves anywhere.

There is no betrayal, Graves wins and runs away with his prized and loyal Obscurus (and he never ever turns into Johnny Depp)

Everyone assumes Newt's daemon is Pickett or the Niffler (hidden depths of abilities yet still so cute and lovable). But when asked by someone where his daemon is Newt reveals that they had to learn to stretch their bond over a distance as he/she wasn't exactly subtle. At first people are like '??? Just get them to behave. It can't be that hard' and then they meet Newt's daemon and completely understand where he's coming from.

Because Newt's daemon is a motherfucking dragon.

(Bonus for Newt/Graves but I'm not fussy)

Newt doesn't need Queenie to tell him Leta was a taker. He knew that. He knew their relationship was not what was generally considered "healthy". But Newt had never really cared for the general opinion of anything.

Aka various characters get frustrated whenever Newt communicates with them because his patronus changes every single day.

Grindelwald escapes and kills Newt. The loss is too much for Graves to bare.

Picquery no longer trusts Graves state of mind and forces him to retire, except, just because he’s no longer an official Auror doesn’t mean he’ll stop. This is all he has now.

He kills every Grindelwald’s fanatics brutally after torturing them for information. He’s cold, calculating, and efficient. Leaving no trace that he was ever there.

Tina watches Graves watches fall deeper into the darkness and is afraid he becoming something worse than Grindelwald ever was.

When fighting in WWI and trying to get over Leta by any means necessary, Newt ended up gaining a lot of "practical experience" with wartime prostitutes (because this kind of thing happened a whole lot in reality). Tina, who hasn't been so much as kissed (because who would want HER when Queenie exists?), gets a big surprise on their wedding night.

Bonus points if there's no syphilis involved (please? Pretty please?)

Prompt: I originally thought dark!Newt, but this could also totally go for Grindelwald-What-Grindelwald!Dark!Real!Graves.

Newt doesn’t seem like the type to get angry very easily, but when Newt does get snaps its like a bomb. As if all the negative emotions he suppressed throughout the years was unleashed like a tsunami. He goes into a Berserker like fury that is almost unstoppable.

Grindelwald went a step to far and for the first time ever, is very afraid.

- I'm in love with the idea that Newt is more powerful than people believe he is. The reason it doesn't show is because he's such a cute, pure, and unconfident cinnamon roll.
- Also, Dumbledore totally knew, thats why he isn't worried about Newt at all.

I don't even know you guys, I just really want to see this.

Graves has 7 children and he needs someone to take care of them. Cue Newt. Idk, maybe Newt is as good with kids as he is with animals. Graves is very strict and his children learn to do magic only for practical purposes, maybe for defense. Newt teaches them that magic can be fun, beautiful and, well, magical. He introduces them to his creatures and slowly brings them out of their shells.

Of course Graves slowly begins to crack as well, from Newt's contagious sweetness and joy. There's just something about Newt that changes perspectives.

Other characters would be awesome as well. Maybe Jacob as Max and Tina as Liesel?

We've had a couple of frankly glorious Newt lovin' on his creatures fics here, but I'm thirsty SO

Newt loves his animals and they love him in a bond so profound and singular that, well, if sometimes things take a turn for the intimate that's no one's business but theirs. It certainly isn't hurting anyone, at any rate. The animals, they just want to express their gratitude in one of the few ways they know how, and offer their master some small comfort for all he has sacrificed for them, and Newt accepts it with grace.

Only once as Newt is having some private time with the loves of his life, someone happens to barge into his suitcase without even knocking and catch him in the act, and they decide that they need to MAKE IT their business.

In my head this person is Percival Graves, but I left it open because I can also see interesting scenarios happening with someone like Jacob or Tina, or anyone really.

Sooo Newt is surprisingly outgoing while drunk. He's talkative, cheerful and extremely shameless. Lt's say there's a celebration at MACUSA that he's invited to and he gets wasted and starts flirting with Graves, maybe even begging him to sleep with him. But Graves, of course, would never take advantage of someone who's under the influence.

Newt remembers it all the next day, what Graves does then is up to you.

So, after Tina attacks his mother Credence developed a massive crush on her, viewing her as an angel. His obscurus form takes to following her at night and he himself starts to look for her during the Silence meetings.
Basically Tina being a bamf and obcsurial sex with an obsessed, touch starved Credence.

Newt was actually very popular at Hogwarts, he just wasn’t aware of it. Mainly because Theseus did everything in his power to preserve his little brother's virtue from all their perverted classmates and teachers.

Tina, Queenie, and Graves get a letter from Theseus, since Newt will be staying for awhile. They become quite confused when the only thing written on the letter says is….”Good Luck."

After he's rescued and reclaiming by his life, Percival finally meets Newt. He is instantly attracted to the quirky and shy young wizard. However, everything Percival has been through has left him guarded so he tries to fight the attraction by being a little standoffish and hostile to Newt. Newt for his part is shy and won't meet Percival's eye, giving the impression that he doesn't like Percival either. They circle each other with the tension mounting. One night while Percival's alone in his apartment angsting over things, there is a knock on the door. The auror is surprised to find Newt on the other side of the door. He gets even more surprised when Newt confidently walks in without an invite. Percival follows after him ready to rip him a new on when instead Newt grabs him and give him the hardest, filthiest kiss Percival has ever received in all his life. Newt then looks him dead in the eye and without any hesitation in his voice, orders Percival to go to his bedroom and be naked and in bed when he gets there. A stunned Percival is about to start yelling in protest, but one look at Newt's face has him following the order. When Newt does go to the bedroom, a now naked Percival still tries to put up some kind of fight, only to be stunned further when Percival pins him down and then proceeds to ravish him all night long. Come morning Percival finds Newt making him breakfast and being his usual shy self, but now Percival knows just what's hiding beneath the surface and he's smitten.

Newt and Tina get married after the events of the movie, and go on their honeymoon.

What they don't know is that they picked up a "hitchhiker" of sorts without realizing it, and what's left of Credence is hanging out and watching everything they do.

So in the triad verse, instead of couples, the average relationship is three people. Usually couples form and look forward their third. I just really want each of the three of them thinking the other two are a couple, and desperately trying to flirt with both of them but all of them are oblivious idiots who misinterpret eveything.

Like, Graves assumes Tina and Newt must but a couple because they spend so much time together and Newt lives with her. Tina thinks Newt and Graves must be a couple because everytime she brings Newt to work she ends up finding him in Graves' office. Newt spends all his time listening to each of them talk about the other (in an attempt at flirting) and just kind of assumes they must already be a couple.

Basically just romcom levels of confusion and shameless pining.

Bonus: Queenie is super amused at first but ends up getting tired of it and helps sort them all out.

While Newts partner (Graves or OMC) is fairly progressive in his views of homosexual relationships, he is still very old-fashioned (or in style) with his views of how a relationship should be, meaning as soon as they are married, he feels as if Newt is in his custody and orders him around the house, punishing him when he does something wrong and expecting him to be a loyal homemaker with dinner on the table when he gets home and performing 'bed duties' without objecting.

If it is a OMC that Newt marries, perhaps Graves senses that something is wrong and tries to help Newt.

Newt is not an obscurus - suspiciously specific denials.
