While no word limit will be imposed, take note that it is very unlikely for someone to fulfill your prompt if your prompt alone is already several paragraphs long and containing a number of specifications.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-(01/14/2016) We now have a TRADING POST where you can exchange fills with people.
-The prompt freeze is over! You may resume posting prompts. The next freeze is scheduled on February 8, 12:00 AM (PST) or if this round reaches 4,000 comments; whichever comes first.

RULE #1: No prompt must exceed 250 words. Any prompt that exceeds that WILL be screened.
RULE #2: Please state RPF in the subject line if your prompt involves real people.

Ministry Officials are jerks to Newt and they Pay the Price

(Anonymous) 2017-03-18 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
The Ministry is full of pompous jerks who views Newt as a unimportant pawn that can be sacrificed at any time. They don’t even try to hide it, so when Newt accepts a job at MACUSA, they don’t care. Adding insult to injury, they pull the plug for Newt’s book since he is no longer a Ministry employee.

But don’t worry, Karma comes back to bite hard.

Theseus has tolerated the Ministry’s actions at first, because they gave Newt a job and funded his book but since they broke their promises, Theseus had no reason to stay. When they receive Theseus's resignation, the brothers are already on a ship to the United States. The ministry is quickly blamed for making the war hero leaving leave, they are also accused of mistreatment/abuse of employees, and lose the respect of the public.

Next, MACUSA picks up Newt’s book and publishes it, and it becomes the best seller in the wizarding world, even becoming required text in all major magical schools. This makes the Ministry officials look like fools when truth gets out about them dropping Newt’s book.

Things fall apart in England but Newt life is great. He is living in New York with his brother, loves his job and friends, and is planning a sequel for his book.

And, for the icing on the cake, he's engaged to one of America's Most Eligible Wizards - Percival Graves. (Please?)

Newt/other, sexual assault/rape/non-con

(Anonymous) 2017-03-19 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
In the mood for something dark!

Someone sexually assaults Newt. It could be some random guy on the street, a new auror or if you are so inclined even Grindlewald. And how far the attacker gets is up to you as well. All I ask is that the experience leaves him understandably traumatized, and during the attack there is a lot of crying and begging and fighting back because that is my shameful kink of shame.

If you go the route of pairing Newt with anyone, I prefer him with Graves.

Newt takes his social cues from his beasts to express friendship and/or romantic interest.

(Anonymous) 2017-03-20 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Newt's better at beast language and social cues than wizarding so when he wants to express romantic interest or friendship to someone he automatically does so in magical beast inspired fashion. What methods does he use? How does he translate it into the human/wizarding equivalent? Will his friends and love interest figure out what he means? Does it involve strange gifts and even stranger activities?

Bonus ideas
* others having to use Newt's book or notes to realize what's going on.
* someone returning the gestures in kind either intentionally or unintentionally.
* including info on what beast the gesture is taken from and why it should be appropriate for the person it's aimed at. Maybe he keeps trying different species methods on the same person till he finds a match?
* talking about the ideas and/or the reactions to his gestures with the various beasts and complaining about the strangeness of humans/wizards

Outlaw Percival x hooker Newt x Sheriff Grindelwald: The Wild West

(Anonymous) 2017-03-21 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Theseus and Newt didn’t start out with much in life, the two were orphaned young with no prospects so they did what was needed to survive. Theseus now runs a small Brothel in a small dusty town where Newt occasionally “works” and is the most popular there. Newt also gets to care for his animals on the days he doesn’t.

In the brothers minds, they are surviving and thats all that matters.

Things get hectic soon however, when the Corrupt Lawman Grindelwald and the a Notorious Outlaw Percival get attached to the same person, which is Newt.

Now Newt and Theseus are sitting behind the bar waiting for the shoot out to be over. Damn, they just reopened the place from the of those two gunslingers went at it.

Newt can't duel

(Anonymous) 2017-03-21 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Post-movie, Newt is now a consultant at the MACUSA and a duelling competition is announced. Everyone wants the magizoologist on their team. After all, Newt can hold his own for an impressive amount of time against a wizard as powerful as Grindelwald, is incredibly adaptable and in a real world situation, can wipe the floor with just about everyone.

Except Newt tries desperately to get out of the entire thing, claiming that he can't duel. No one takes him seriously until the event happens and it is cringe-inducing to watch.

Wizarding duels are highly formal events that take place face to face on a raised platform so that your movements are limited and there are all sorts of unspoken rules about what is and is not acceptable. Basically, every weak spot Newt has is encapsulated in a formal duel. He just can't do it.

Everyone's very confused until someone points out that they've definitely never bowed at someone they're trying to arrest.

Newt climbed out of his suitcase, which he had left on the desk he was borrowing in the auror office, to be faced with more than the normal buzz of excitement. Tina was grinning brightly from the next desk over, and Director Graves nodded smartly at his direction. He got the feeling that a conversation had been happening while he was absent. He just didn't know what the conversation had been about.
"Fine." The Director said after a moment. "You can ask him. But if he says no, then leave the poor man alone." For a moment it looked like the other aurors would protest, but then they nodded. In a way he supposed it should be comforting to know his views were seen as important. But with no idea of what it was he was about to be asked, he couldn't help feeling his heart racing slightly.

"What is it?"
"There's a duelling competition." Tina said quickly. "And since you're currently consulting for the aurors we thought that you would be on our team."

Newt remembered Hogwarts, the smirking faces of the pureblood boys as they proceeded to knock him to the floor once again, hexes dancing across his skin until he gathered the strength to apparate away. He remembered his teacher's smirk as he sent stinging curses at Newt as punishment for not even trying. Of Theseus standing with medals and trophies, and telling Newt that he was doing okay, Newt knowing that it was a lie.
"I'm no good at duelling." He mumbled, and some of the aurors closest to them laughed. Tina frowned.
"Newt. You singlehandedly defeated Grindelwald. If you don't want to be on our team, that's fine. But we've all seen what you're capable of."

Newt smiled nervously, not wanting to be rude and refuse when they had tried to be helpful, but also not wanting to have to face that smart blue carpet. He could see his instructor's face, a look of total disgust as Newt stumbled over his own feet, tripping as he bowed.
"Can... Can I give it some thought?" He asked after a moment. "I'll be alright. I just need some time to decide if I want to participate."

The aurors nodded, and Newt pretended that he couldn't see how disappointed they were. He felt like a traitor. Director Graves flashed him a smile.
"I remember when Theseus and I duelled during the war." He nodded. "You would be a great benefit to the team. But it's your choice."
"Thank you sir." Newt mumbled, ducking his head down to the floor. "I... I needed to go and...and get some water." He almost ran out of the room before he remembered he could have simply aguamentied hmself some water. He could hear his brother's laughter at that moment, the fond way he had smiled, had squeezed Newt's shoulder.
"It's okay Newt. You're good at different things. I'll do the duelling for both of us, and you can handle everything else. How does that sound?"
Newt had agreed, and life had been simpler then. He had written to his parents explaining that he wanted to leave duelling club, and that he would be helping care for the thestrals and various other creatures. He learned there, and didn't bother knowing any more duelling. There had been a few times that duelling had been compulsory, the boys in his class delighted that they had an opportunity to hurt him with the school's blessing, but mostly he had been able to avoid it. At times other than official duels, Newt could always apparate out of harm’s way. Official rules meant that apparating was banned.

He shook his head and tried to focus, then made his way to the cafe, only to see Sam standing there, using his magic to pour a cup of coffee. One of the best of MACUSA's obliviators, he had been helping Newt develop cover stories that could be used for a range of creature attacks.
"Scamander!" Sam greeted him with a broad grin, holding out a broad hand to shake. "Just the man I had wanted to see?"
"Oh?" Newt tilted. "Did you manage to work out a solution to the murtlap question?"
"No. I have no idea how we can even begin to pass that off as something else." Sam admitted with a shrug. "But that wasn't what I wanted to see you for. I wanted to talk to you about this competition that's going to be happening in the next week or so, I don't know if you've heard about it?"
Newt's heart sunk a little, but he nodded.
"You mean the duelling competition."
"I do." Sam agreed. "I mean, I understand if the aurors have already poached you, but they're all already trained for this. Really, you would be much better off helping a group that's disadvantaged. The obliviators would be more than happy to have you on side if you're looking for a team that's got a good chance of winning and doesn't do this kind of thing all the time."

"I... I'm sorry." Newt murmured.
"No worries." Sam handed Newt a cup of coffee, pouring himself a second. "I guessed that they'd probably already got you. But if you change your mind and want to shake things up a bit-"
"I'll keep you in mind." Newt replied, quickly transforming his coffee into rather more palatable tea. Everyone on MACUSA appeared to run on particularly strong coffee, and he had no idea how they managed to drink it without feeling sick.

On his way back to his temporary office, he was waylaid by Rosie, by a secretary, by one of the witches who was working on Sasquatch protection, and by the President herself. It was quite clear to him that there was going to be no way that he could get out of this. He was going to be expected to duel. He sipped his tea and took a seat at his desk, considering his options. After a moment he sighed, lifting his head and looking up at the rest of the aurors.
"I've decided I'd like to duel with the rest of you. If you've got space on the team."

His reasons for the decision were simple enough - the aurors were likely to be doing well regardless, and so it was unlikely that he could bring down their score enough to ruin their entry, and they were the group he was closest to. He could only hope that he wouldn't be losing their respect when they saw how much he struggled with duelling. There was cheering and whooping in celebration, and he sat down with his notes in front of him. He tried to put thoughts of the upcoming duel out of his mind. There would be time for worrying later. For now, his focus was going to be on getting on with his notes and doing whatever he could to distract himself.

***

On the day of the duel, the whole of MACUSA's staff gathered together in the central atrium. A ripple of excitement was passing through the crowd. Newt had been placed as the second dueller on the auror team, and that meant his first match was just before lunch. He tried to focus on watching the others compete, but it just became clear to him that he was going to be at a huge disadvantage, outclassed in every imaginable respect.

The competition began with several of the weaker teams, engaging in healthy interdepartmental competition. The receptionist girls were managing a surprisingly skilled showing given everything, and Newt found himself cheering them on, temporarily forgetting about his own fate. Queenie was exceptional - though not a talented duellist as such, being able to read the mind of your opponent had certain advantages. He watched her compete, whooping and hollering in celebration.

Worse was when Percival took the stand. He strode out onto the carpet with confidence, bowing smartly and then standing straight, his wand held out before him. His opponent, one of the healers, looked a little nervous. The referee called for the fight to begin, and a flurry of spells were fired off by the healer.

Percival deflected them easily, with a flick of his wrist. He brought his own wand up to cast a barrier, and then aimed at the other man's legs. The healer jumped out of the way of the curse, and Percival countered it with another hex, sending him spinning through the air. The aurors were whooping and cheering, the noise too loud for where they were, and Percival set off a shower of sparks flying after the man.

A blue light emerged, and Newt shuddered as memories of Grindelwald's attack threatened to overwhelm him. He knew that Percival wouldn't be using any hex like that, wouldn't be aiming to injure, but it was still a concern, leaving his insides feeling twisted with sickness. The wand flew from his opponent's hand, and the cheering reached a crescendo. Percival bowed again, handing the wand back to the healer, and the two of them took their seats.

Newt continued to watch the fights, his head down as he focused on what was done. He remembered the bowing, the way that they were expected to show proper form. Some of the steps were different in MACUSA than the ones he had learned at Hogwarts, but there were similarities enough for him to use what he had learned.

Finally, it was his time to take to the thin blue carpet. Tina hugged him and grinned.
"You can do it Newt."

He could feel every eye upon him as he made his way up the steps that led to the duelling carpet. He turned to look at his opponent. Marcus, one of the younger obliviators. He was only too aware of the rivalry there. He couldn't expect Marcus to pull his punches or show him anything approaching mercy.

This was just a friendly duel. He tried to remind himself of that as he reached the carpet, stumbling a little as he made his way over to the appropriate spot. A moment later he remembered he was meant to bow first. He walked to the middle, and bowed his head, then spun half a turn and returned to his spot on the carpet.
"Newt?" There was a concerned voice calling out from the crowd, and he looked down to see Queenie looking up at him. "You don't need to do this."

Newt smiled nervously, but shook his head, and spun to face his opponent. His heart was hammering in his chest so hard that he felt he was going to be sick, but there was nothing he could do about it, no way that he could stop it now. He tried to remind himself to keep his feet on their spot on the carpet, even as every instinct he had screamed at him to apparate away, or at least dive to the side. Marcus flicked a spell towards him, a simple action aimed to disarm. Newt shielded himself, and in doing so moved too far from the side, and only a quick flick of Tina's wand stopped him from falling face first onto the ground. He regained his balance, and tried to send another spell, and another, trying to remember the rhythm of it.

If he was just on his own, this would be easier. But the aurors were counting on him, and everyone here knew that he was the man who had defeated Grindelwald. They expected him to win this fight.

The carpet at his feet seemed to twist and he collapsed to his knees, his wand still held out in front of him. Marcus summoned it to his hand, and then walked towards him to hand it back.

Newt's hands were trembling too badly to pick up the wand when it was held out to him, and he swallowed nervously, tension building inside of him. After all the other fights there had been cheering and laughter. Now there was just a disappointed silence. He had let down his friends.
"Sorry." He murmured, his voice echoing strangely in the room. "I don't... I'm not good at duelling." He wrapped his arms around himself, and let Marcus help him back to his feet.

"But you-with Grindelwald?" Marcus prompted, and Newt shrugged.
"That was different..."

Marcus led him down the steps, and the next fight began. But eyes were still watching Newt, as though he had somehow humiliated the aurors, as though he was a disgrace. He fought back his desire to sob, reminding himself that he was still in public here. That he was still expected to represent his house, his school and his team.

He felt the aurors swarming around him, checking him over for any injuries, their gazes all looking at him in concern. They were acting like they were worried. He managed to force himself to smile, then saw out of the corner of his eye that Tina had pushed Marcus against the wall, her wand at his throat. He shook his head.
"Tina. He didn't do anything!" He tried to protest, but Tina glared. Marcus listed off the spells he had used. Nothing that should have posed a problem. Newt cringed, his shoulders rising to bracket his face, as he stared down at the floor. He didn't want to face their disgust, to be seen as an embarrassment or a failure. Not by the aurors, not by his friends.

It was Percival who approached, putting a hand gently on Newt's shoulder.
"Newt?" He asked softly. "What happened up there?"
"I told you." Newt mumbled, suddenly resentful. "I can't duel..."

Percival's arms wrapped around him in an embrace. He held him close, and Newt felt his fears fading a little - Percival wasn't angry with him, wasn't rejecting him. The aurors were concerned, not disappointed in him.
"We all saw you fight Grindelwald." One of the aurors said, and Newt cringed.

"And you took down that man last week who had a wand at a No-Maj's throat."

"I can fight." Newt tried to explain what he meant. "But I can't duel. Never have been able to, never will be able to."
"It's just the same thing." One of the aurors pointed out, and Newt felt himself blush with shame. He was a failure and a disappointment then.

"Of course it's not the same." Percival snapped, shaking his head. "What a stupid idea. I mean, all of you-" He gestured at the surrounding aurors. "All of you are regularly in fights. Now, can anyone tell me, when was the last time you bowed before arresting a criminal."

Newt felt the tension and sickness in his throat ease slightly. Maybe this would be alright.

Plenty of Colin/Ezra, where's some Colin/Eddie though?

Preferably bottom!Eddie and Colin just turning him into a total mess on his fingers, tongue, and cock, but there's such a drought I'd happily take anything.

These boys talk about each other so fondly, Colin gave Eddie a massage, Eddie referred to Colin's wand technique as 'fifty shades of grey meets the wizarding world', come on, throw me a bone here. Or a boner. Preferably two.

Newt/Original Graves - Making Memories

(Anonymous) 2017-03-22 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Part of how Grindelwald tortured Graves was removing all his good memories. There weren't all that many to be honest but now he has none. After he is finally rescued Newt is the first person to give him a happy memory and he just breaks down. Newt fumbles his way through comforting him and eventually realizes whats going on and becomes determined to give Percival as many happy memories as possible. Bottom!Graves if there is sex, please. And since all happy memories are gone, if he has any memories of having sex they are obviously horrible.

+The creatures are super protective of their mummy's mate and try to help Newt make him happy.
+Really gentle, loving sex with Newt holding Percival.

Original!Graves(/Newt), Picquery, Tina, Queenie, MACUSA - MACUSA Protecting Percival

(Anonymous) 2017-03-22 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
After the revelation that Grindelwald stole Graves' face and identity, the ICW (specifically the British contingent) is out for blood - or, more accurately, a scapegoat. Like Percival Graves. There are calls for his resignation, for an investigation, for an /execution/ -

MACUSA's response takes the ICW by surprise.

Because Percival Graves is one of them and he's been hurt terribly. They should have noticed. They should have /done/ something, but they are NOT going to let anyone hurt him again.

The ICW has just shot themselves in the foot. The Americans are angry.

+ MACUSA resurrects that oldest of American traditions - giving England the finger and chanting 'fuck the British!' (Someone throws tea into the harbor)

++ MACUSA spontaneously bursting into 'The Star-Spangled Banner'.

+++ Somehow ends up Graves/Newt

Newt/Anyone - Omorashi

(Anonymous) 2017-03-23 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd really like to read something featuring a desperate, squirmy Newt who tries and fails to hold it and ends up wet. Whether it's intentional or not, whether it's forced on him or he brings it on himself and whether he gets off on it is entirely up to the writer, I just really want him to piss his pants.

Newt/anyone, back in hogwarts, mutual masturbation

(Anonymous) 2017-03-24 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ok, so apparently JK rowling once tweeted that there was no sex ed taught at Hogwarts but that they figured it out anyways and something like mutual masturbation or masturbation circles became common, especially in the Hufflepuff dormitory. And seeing as Newt is a hufflepuff, I'd really love to see some exploration into that and how it affected him (which pretty much just leads into an excuse for smut).

I'd love to see some kink exploration. Feel free to add any of the other characters. I prefer a more submissive Newt but I'd love to see anything. I'd also prefer this to mostly happen in their later years at Hogwarts.

Newts (Human) Family

Since finding out that Newt's Mum breeds hippogriffs, I've been convinced that she and Newt are birds of a feather. I'd love to see a fic where there's a Scamander reunion and people just have to face the fact that the family is not normal.

Newt's Mum - My darling boys! Let me look at you. Theseus have you been eating enough dark greens? You know that zinc deficiencies are a major cause of poor feathering.

Theseus - I'm still not a hippogriff Mum

Newt's Mum - And Newt! My dearheart! It's always such a bittersweet time when a young male leaves the flock.

Theseus - Newts not a hippogriff either, in case anyone was wondering

Percival/ Newt/Theseus: Yandere Percival vs Yandere Theseus

(Anonymous) 2017-03-25 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Hogwarts become a battle ground for two demented students, all in the pursuit and owenership of one Newt Scamander.

Students at Hogwarts are caught in the crossfire and are living in fear as their fellow classmates start disappearing or found dead.

Newt knows whats going on and wants it all to stop, but refuses to tell anyone. Because one, who would ever believe that two model students are the culprits, and two, monsters or not…. he loves them both.

Tina/Graves, non-con

(Anonymous) 2017-03-26 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Not sure if this has been posted here or not, I saw it on Tumblr and I can't figure out how to search for this here. So I'm posting my own. Not my original prompt, but I like it. Graves comes across Tina being attacked, in an alley, on a job, whatever, and she thinks he's there to save her, but after "saving" her he actually carries on the attack.

SECONDED

Newt/Percival, Rescue and Rehabilitation

(Anonymous) 2017-03-26 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Percival is rescued with the usual horribleness having happened to him, starvation, curses, torture, rape if you want. He is awake but won't speak. He'll flinch at sudden noises so they know he's not deaf but he refuses to make a sound. He refuses to make eye contact. He nearly dislocated his own shoulder trying to avoid being touched. They have to sedate him every time any of his injuries need treatment.

This is not aiding his recovery and no one can figure out how to help him. He's starting to fade and everyone is getting depressed thinking they rescued him only to lose him to Grindelwald anyways.

Then Newt comes back and, somehow, starts to help him.

While I think it's unrealistic with that prompt that there would be sex, if anon makes it happen, please let it be Percival bottoming.

BONUS: Include the creatures with the helping.

Theseus/Percival +Newt +Credence, Fighting over Graves

(Anonymous) 2017-03-26 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Both Newt and Credence want to court Percival. They fight over him, try to out do each other in flirting and gift giving, etc. Percival is oblivious to it all. He has a mountain of paperwork to get through because Grindelwald apparently had just been shoving it in a cabinet after all. And he's trying to rebuild the disaster of a department he'd been left with.

Then Theseus comes for a visit and sweeps Percival off his feet effortlessly. Whether this is a new thing or he and Graves had been together for a while (I told you I had an American boyfriend, Netwon) is up to anon.

(Anonymous) 2017-03-26 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
Something Very Bad has happened. Worse than the Director of Magical Security being impersonated by the darkest wizard of the age. Worse than an Obscurus rampaging through New York. It requires everyone to pull together.

Can everyone at MACUSA get past the guilt of not noticing their Director had been replaced? Can Graves get past the hurt of not being missed? Can Newt convince the beast-shy wizards of America that his creatures can help?

It doesn't matter. It's not enough. Doom is near.

And then Jacob arrives to save the day.

Could be serious, could be crack, your choice anon. No romance, no sex, just mahem and destruction and hope in the form of a no-maj baker who is positively enchanted by all things magic.

I know exactly what must have happened. Somehow, through some unspeakably evil magic or treason, the worst thing that could possibly befell any government has happened. The coffee is GONE!!!

Luckily Jacob has been experimenting with coffee cake, so he has a few sacks that can tide the MACUSA over for a few hours

One-sided Credence/Newt, attempted rape

(Anonymous) 2017-03-26 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay this is weird but I can't get this scenario out of my head......

Credence is taken under Newt's wing and falls in love with him almost instantly. He starts to think of himself as Newt's and the animals' protector given his status as an immensely powerful wizard. Eventually, once he's gathered enough confidence in taking care of Newt and the beasts, he decides that he wants to start a sexual relationship with Newt, who is very against the idea and awkwardly yet sweetly rejects him.

Given Credence's abusive past, lack of healthy social interaction and outright desperation to be close to Newt, he comes to the conclusion that he's going to try to make his way into Newt's bed, anyway, culminating in a single disastrous encounter between the two of them.

Bonuses:
-no actual rape, but Credence is forceful and scary
-Newt is a virgin
-something snaps Credence out of what he's doing at the very last second, but not before he's shoved Newt down and torn at his clothes and thoroughly frightened him
-protective yet confused beasts who don't want to hurt Credence but also won't allow him to harm Newt
-the reason Newt rejected Credence is because he is in the early stages of a relationship with someone else (Graves)
-Credence is genuinely remorseful and can't believe what he's done

Ending is up to the filler. Newt can forgive Credence and they can start to try to heal and move on, or Newt can be far too traumatized to even be around his young apprentice :(

Graves/Newt, Theseus: Mob boss Percival is dating Police Chief's Theseus’s little brother.

(Anonymous) 2017-03-26 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Theseus has tried to find a way to get Percival in jail and away from Newt, but Percival has too many strings and connections to be touched. He may never be able to arrest him but he will humiliate him, Theseus has connections too damn it!

Percival (with great annoyance) has tolerate Theseus, because anything done against the Police Chief would make him the top suspect. Also he’s doubts Newt would appreciate his loved brother being at the bottom of the river. But boy is it tempting!

Newt remains blissfuly and adorably ignorant, he even happily introduce his boyfriend to his loved brother never realizing they already know each other. They are smiles and cordial in front of Newt, but when Newt’s not looking its all glares and silent death threats.

Credence helps Graves (or other wizard or choice) escape Grindelwald

(Anonymous) 2017-03-26 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Gindelwald finds Credence (obscurus? untrained wizard?) before anyone else and decides he'll be a useful tool that can be molded and shaped. He abuses Credence but keeps him loyal through any combination of misinformation, emotional manipulation, blackmail and threats.

Grindelwald imprisons Graves (or other wizard of choice) for whatever reason (to impersonate him and hunting for the Obscurus if it's not Credence?) and Credence and Graves meet. Graves figures he can use Credence to escape. Now if he can just remember to view the hurting and abused young man, with the surprising streak of kindness, as a tool to be used rather than feeling protective toward him.

Credence has realized that Grindelwald and his followers are VERY bad people and feels he has to make amends no matter the cost to himself. Freeing the intimidating prisoner and helping him to safety seems a good place to start. Credence is sure that he'll be even more hated by the 'Good' wizards than with Grindelwald but he's determined to do the right thing anyway.

In the end he finds the admiration and love that he deserves. Love a m/m pairing for this but totally cool with a family of choice adoption type thing. Give Credence some love and people determined to show him he's worthy of good things.

Filll: Grindelwald Rescue (Credence/Graves if you squint) 1/2

(A/N: I was planning on working on something else today, but then this prompt ate up just about all my brainpower and attention and I just HAD to write it. I also know next to nothing about 1920’s profanity, so apologies in advance for any anachronistic cussing.
Here she is, in all her quick-and-dirty, unbeta’d glory. Posting from mobile, so apologies for any formatting issues.)
It wasn’t the first time Percival Graves had woken up tied up in a stranger’s home. Though, the circumstances this time around were a bit… less than favourable, to say the least.
Granted, he wasn’t expecting Gellert Grindelwald to come bursting into his apartment at an ungodly hour, but that was no excuse for how downright embarrassing his defeat had been. He’d like to pretend it was a thrilling battle and he gave it his all (and he’d certainly spin the tale that way when he got out of this… if he got out of this), but a half-asleep Auror is no match for an incredibly powerful Dark Wizard who’d also managed to break all the wards around his apartment.
Groaning, Graves attempted to test out what he could move. After a few attempts to wriggle his way out of his bonds, the action proved to be moot. Why on Earth Grindelwald decided Graves needed both a full body bind and several yards of rope to restrain him was beyond Graves’ understanding. It was, however, proving to be quite effective. Whether it was the spell or the loss of circulation, he was unable to feel pretty much all of his limbs.
But he was still able to use the rest of his senses, thankfully, as he heard a muffled, slightly accented voice through the door.
Grindelwald.
“–the man I told you about, Credence. He’s a skilled manipulator. He will lie to you, just to get his freedom. Don’t you dare give it to him. Do you understand that?”
“Yes, sir.”
The second voice was quieter and a bit more meek. This person, who must be Credence, just... sounded younger than Gellert. Something about his tone set Graves’ nerves on end. It was the same tone he’d heard from schoolboys after they were caned by their headmasters.
No, this was just another one of Grindelwald’s fanatics. Best to just… figure out some way to escape all this. He didn’t have time to feel sorry for someone who wanted to expose wizardkind to the the rest of the world.
The door burst open, another one of Gellert’s dramatics no doubt, and Grindelwald stepped into the small, basement room where he’d imprisoned Percival Graves. He brought Graves to face him with a flick of his wand.
“Nice to see you’re awake again, Percy. I was beginning to think you wouldn’t make it, considering you duel like a first-year Hogwarts student.”
If it weren’t for the bind, Graves would have punched Grindelwald square in the jaw.
Gellert turned to someone Graves couldn’t see from this angle. Credence, presumably. “Out like a bitch, this one. I wonder would MACUSA would say if they heard all I had to do to best the President’s right hand man was show up a little past his bedtime.” He turned his attention back to Graves. “You should be very thankful you’re pretty, by the way. If your face wasn’t worth wearing, you’d be dead by now.”
His face wasn’t worth… wearing? What the Hell?
Before Graves could wonder any more than that, he was dropped back onto the concrete ground, landing just so he could look up and get a decent view of Grindelwald.
With a quick wave of his wand, his entire body transformed. One moment, Gellert Grindelwald was smirking at him, the next, it was his own face, twisted into a cruel and smug expression.
It was like looking in some sort of cursed mirror.
“One last thing.” Grindelwald flipped Graves over with his foot, before slipping a hand beneath the bonds to grab at his pocket. He slowly pulled out Graves’ wand as if relishing the moment.
It was only now that Graves could get a proper look at the man Gellert was with. He was standing silently in the corner of the room, keeping his head down and his shoulders hunched as if he was expecting to be scolded at any moment. Graves felt a pang of pity for the boy (who couldn’t have been older than twenty, twenty-five if he really stretched it) before firmly reminding himself that he was probably just as crazed as his companion.
Gellert’s voice brought Graves’ attention back to his captor. “Won’t this be great? I’m going to take down MACUSA and you’re going to take all the blame for it.” He looked towards the quiet boy in the corner. “I wonder, Credence, what it must be like, knowing that you’ll go down in history as the man who toppled his own government.”
Hearing those words come out of Graves’ mouth, with his own voice, made his skin crawl.
The young man, who was definitely named Credence, just looked up passively, avoiding eye contact with Gellert.
“I don’t know, sir.”
The response was mumbled, almost robotic.
Graves had the aching suspicion that Grindelwald had done something terrible to that poor boy.
Seeing that Credence wasn’t playing along with the taunting, Grindelwald focused his attention back onto Graves. “Well, I’m about to become very acquainted with your personal life, Percy, so if there’s anything you’d like me to know, feel free to say it.”
That was, Graves decided, the worst thing about dealing with Grindelwald. The way he never shut up. It was one thing to be one of the most notorious wizards on the planet, but he also had to be so goddamn smug about it. And that stupid nickname just made it even worse. Percival Graves hadn’t been “Percy” since he’d entered double digits.
He felt the anger coil in his gut. “You stay the fuck out of my life, you hear me!?”
“Well, I’m afraid it’s far too late for that.” Grindelwald calmly held out his own wand, which Credence took, almost like he’d been trained to do so. “I’ll try and be good, at least for now. There’s no guarantee there won’t be a few… casualties, of course.” He turned to the boy. “Come on Credence, I think Percy, here, would prefer to be left to his own devices.”
The young man nodded silently and followed Gellert out of the room.
Graves groaned and rested his head on the cold, concrete floor. He had to escape somehow. And Credence might just be the key to his success.
The idea of manipulating the poor boy left a bad taste in Graves’ mouth, but it would have to be the price to pay for the greater good. And he’d have to figure out something quick, before Gridelwald had the chance to do any lasting damage.
•••

His first opportunity to gather information came much sooner than Graves was expecting.

After what felt like hours, Graves head another set of footsteps approach his room. He tensed (or, at least, would have if he could feel his limbs), before Credence came into view.

He knelt down beside Graves, his expression curious and laced with fear. The young man raised a hand to wave at him and Percival’s heart nearly stopped.

On his right middle finger, plain as day, there was a signet ring with the symbol of the Deathly Hallows carved into it.

He’d known, of course, that Credence was one of Gellert’s followers but seeing it after spending so long in Europe fighting people who bore that same mark was just chilling.

“Why are you here?” he growled, trying to hide his nerves.

Credence just crouched and leaned in closer. “I’ve… never met another wizard before, other than Gellert.”

How was that even possible? There was no way Grindelwald would be caught dead with a muggle, and even just that one display of magic would be enough to set MACUSA in damage control mode. Even wizards from no-maj families tended to find the wizarding community by the time they were old enough to attend Ilvermorny.

“He’s not a very good example of wizardkind, trust me. We’re not all like that.”

Credence cocked his head. “What do you mean? I know he isn’t perfect, but it’s better than what I’d be going back to.”

He’d be going back to something… worse than Grindelwald? Either he was exaggerating or… the thought of that sent shivers down Graves’ spine.

Percy took a deep breath and reminded himself to focus, for Christ’s sake.

“Look, maybe he’s been kind to you, but I’ve fought against his lot. I know what they’re capable of and he’s a very dangerous man--”

“He told me you’d say that.”

Graves threw his head back and groaned. “Look, you have to have seen it for yourself. He’s unstable. He has a temper. He’s very powerful. And if he takes me job, he’d have access to all the people I’ve worked with. Good people who just want to keep the world safe from the likes of him.”

Credence crossed his arms. “I didn’t come here to argue about whether or not Gellert is a good man.”

Gellert. Good god, he had the kid wrapped around his finger.

Still, best to play along, gather what information he could.

“Why did you come here, then? It’s certainly not to torture me, or else you would have done that already.” That, and Credence really didn’t seem the type to enjoy causing harm to others. Which, again, rose some questions about what he was doing with Grindelwald.

“It’s like I said, you’re the only other wizard I’ve met. I want to talk to you.”

He wanted to mumble Well, you’re doing it right now, but Graves also wanted to stay on Credence’s good side. “What do you want to know?”

“Who are you?” He said this so sweetly and quietly that Graves had to keep reminding himself that helping young men was not the priority right now.

He took a breath. “My name is Percival Graves. I’m thirty-five years old, and I’m the Director of Magical Security at MACUSA.”

“I… don’t know what most of those things are.”

How had he never heard of MACUSA? It just raised more red flags in Graves’ mind.

“MACUSA is the governing body in charge of all the witches and wizards in the United States. It’s lead by a president who’s elected every five years. As the Director of Magical security, I’m her right hand man and I’m in charge of all the Aurors in the country.” When Credence just stared at him blankly Graves clarified. “Aurors are like wizard police. We track down bad people doing bad things and bring them to justice.”

“People like Gellert,” Credence concluded.

Graves raised an eyebrow. “So you know he’s awful.”

“I’m working with him. What makes you think I’m any better?”

Graves looked him over. Why did he feel pity for this man and not Grindelwald? After a few moments’ thought, he finally spoke up. “You don’t like it. What he does. I can tell. You’re always off to the side, and you never join in on the teasing. You’re not like him, Credence.”

“But I’m still working with him! They’ll still punish me!”

“I wouldn’t…” Graves muttered.

The next thing he heard was Credence quickly storm out.

Newt - Humanity had its Chance

(Anonymous) 2017-03-27 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Newt is pretty explicit in the film than he feels humans, in general, to be vicious and that his poor, precious creatures need to be protected from them. So what if we took that to the logical extreme.

Maybe the bad guy (Grindelwald or whoever) was trying to get Newt on their side and the brainwashing went too far. Maybe there were one too many poaching incidents or mistreated animals. Either way, Newt has enough.

He is going to kill everyone.

Bonus
+ The bad guys were in favour of Newts new policy at the start until they realised that Newt really does mean to wipe out the entire human race, not just the ones the bad guy wants rid of
++ Newt is perfectly willing to use creatures to kill as long as it doesn't endanger the creature.
+++ The dragons are really happy that Mummy is back and are happy to burn down anything he wants

YES. Sometimes (often) I share Newt's view on humanity.

Protective Percival

I've read a few great stories that hint at Graves being very protective of his aurors. I would like to see more. Perhaps a 5 +1. Five times Graves was protective of his aurors and one time they were protective of him. All platonic.
