In fanfiction, Harry Potter got to be raised by almost everyone so I am thinking why not to have Graves and Credence shot at it. I don't care if you fudge the timeline and have them live in the modern day or if they are old Graves and Credence.

Maybe one of them is related to him and Dumbledore has no choice but to send Harry to live with them.

Or the Dursleys go to America and since their babysitter bailed on them, they have to take Harry with them. Credence sees Vernon mistreating Harry, who reminds him so much of himself and his ma, he practically kidnaps him. And he asks Graves if they can keep the kid and Graves is like "Good Merlin, this is Harry Potter. I have my whole department looking for this kid!"

So I have a hc that Newt is ace. So Newt is in an established relationship with Tina. And everything is fine, they're happy, but Newt is worried that maybe Tina is missing having sex. And Graves seems like a good choice in mate for Tina. Strong, attractive, intelligent. And Newt's seen that look before, in wounded animals. Graves needs a good mate too. And Tina? Well, Tina is just perfect.

Team Creatures decides it's time their human got mated, and, after a long and heated debate on who the best mate is, elect Percival. (It's a tie with Jacob at first, because EXTRA FOOD TREATS, but Frank sends news of Jacob kissing Queenie, so no go.)

The next step consists in bringing them together. Cue various actions - creatures interfering in Auror secret ops, the Niffler stealing Graves's badge, lying down at his office door pretending to be sick, sabotaging the permits so, etc.

Kudos if Queenie can read their thoughts and is the first to smell a cat - or kneazle - but finds the whole business hilarious and doesn't grass on them.

Bonus if Percival ends up asking them for Newt's hand (to Newt's delight and Theseus's indignation).

I can just imagine creatures causing havoc as they run through the halls of Hogwarts and I just imagine Graves is the long suffering DADA substitute teacher that is always on standby for Newt related chaos. McGonagall would just turn up and he'd just sigh and ask what has Scamander done now? Hagrid looks up to Newt and Newt is rather fond of Hagrid. Graves getting more agitated by this, he just KNOWS that having two creature enthusiasts together is a recipe for disaster. Of course it turns out that to fix Graves they will have to do more than just wave a wand. He will need assistance of mind healer. But first they have to convince him to come with them or kidnap him (which is surprisingly difficult considering Graves doesn't even remember existence of magic).
